Kendall National Violin Competition, Kendall, Australia
Kendall is a special place for many aspiring Australian violinists. Open to all Australian residents and citizens, the KNVC has been an important platform for many of today's established Australian violinists. Artistically led and directed by its founder, Dr. Prof. Goetz Richter, the competition has helped launch numerous careers by providing meaningful support and consultation for those who have taken part.
Julia will be making a violin for the edition that will take place in the fall of 2024, and her violin will be awarded to the first prize winner of the senior section of the competition. This award was established to help exceptionally gifted violinists acquire a violin that has the capacity to support artistry that stems from sophisticated musical understanding and expression.
Julia has previously taken projects with other organisations and foundations, having designed violins for winners of their respective contests. Most notably Julia was appointed maker in residence at the Budja Gallery located in the Wiener Philharmoniker Gasse during the Salzburger Festspiele (2017). Lastly, Julia had a pivotal role in creating a violin for the 50th Jubilee celebrations alongside other distinguished makers at the HMTM Hannover (2023).
